Cardiovascular Disorders

The term cardiovascular diseases widely refer to the class of ailments that involve the heart and /or the blood vessels – arteries and veins. Cardiovascular disorders are believed to affect the heart and blood, while the term technically directs several ailments that affect the cardiovascular system. It is generally used for referring to those that are associated with atherosclerosis or arterial diseases. These conditions have same causes, mechanisms and even treatments.
Normally the cardiovascular disease is treated by cardiologist, thoracic surgeons, vascular surgeons, neurologists and interventional radiologists, depending on the specific organ system that is being treated. Since there are substantial specialties and it is common for some process to be performed by different specialists in the same hospital.
Treatment of cardiovascular disease entirely depends upon the typical from of the disease in the individual patient. However, the most effective treatment would always include preventive lifestyle modifications as recommended after mutual discussion between the physician and the patient. Some specific medicines for diminishing blood pressure, as well as some cholesterol inhibiting medications like aspirin and statin are prescribed. But in some intensive cases surgery or angioplasty may also be performed for reopening, repairing or replacing the damaged blood vessels.
Based on some extensive studies and researches around the world, some risk factors for cardiovascular ailments have been recognized. Such risk factors are classified in two categories like un-modifiable factors and modifiable factors.
